If you’re visiting this blog for the first time, welcome. This is the first post I’ve written on this site, and I thought the best place to start is with an honest introduction – who I am, what I do, how I got here, and what I’m building next.

I’m Deepak Hasija – a WordPress developer and AI specialist based in New Delhi, India, with over 12 years of hands-on experience building, managing, and scaling websites for digital agencies, law firms, consultants, healthcare professionals, and business owners across the US, UK, and beyond. I’m not here to pitch you anything in this post. I just want to share my story – the good parts, the difficult parts, and why I started putting it all out in the open.

How It All Started – and Why I Almost Quit

I started working in WordPress back in 2012. At the time, I didn’t have a plan. I wasn’t following some roadmap to becoming a senior developer. I was a guy figuring things out, site by site, error log by error log. I broke things – sometimes catastrophically. I rebuilt them. I learned.

What kept me going wasn’t passion for code (although that did grow over time). It was the moment a client would say, “The phone started ringing after we launched.” That feedback – that a website I built was actually converting real people into real business – became addictive in the best way.

But I’d be lying if I said the journey was smooth. There were years where I undercharged for my work, took projects that didn’t value my time, and said yes to everything because I wasn’t confident enough to say no. I worked long hours on projects that paid too little, for clients who didn’t understand what they were getting. I was good at what I did – but I wasn’t positioning myself that way.

That changed when I started treating my own presence online the way I’d treat a client’s.

The Turning Point: Owning My Expertise

About a year ago, I made a decision. I would stop being the invisible developer behind other people’s brands and start building my own. I rebuilt my website from the ground up using Divi 5. I rewrote my LinkedIn profile from scratch. I started documenting what I actually know.

And the more I put out, the more I realized something: the combination of being a WordPress developer and AI specialist is genuinely rare. Most developers don’t use AI tools seriously. Most AI enthusiasts don’t have deep WordPress roots. That intersection – 12 years of WordPress expertise layered with practical AI workflow automation using tools like Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT, and Midjourney – is what makes the work I do different.

I don’t just build websites. I build them faster, smarter, and with more strategic thinking behind every decision.

The Free E-Books: Sharing What I Know

One of the first things I did when rebuilding my presence was ask myself: What can I give away for free that would actually help someone?

The answer was the knowledge I’d built up from working with hundreds of websites across different professional sectors. So I wrote three free e-books – no email required, no strings attached – each one targeted at a specific type of professional who often struggles to get real value from their website.

📘 For Law Firms: 5 Website Mistakes Law Firms Make (And How to Fix Them) – A 36-page guide covering the five most common – and costly – website mistakes I see across law firm websites in the US and UK. Each chapter gives you a clear diagnosis, real examples, and a specific checklist of fixes. Readable in one sitting.

📗 For Consultants: The Consultant’s Website Checklist: Is Your Site Winning Clients or Losing Them? – A 39-page guide written specifically for independent consultants, boutique consultancy owners, and solo practitioners. Five website mistakes that cost consultants clients every week – each with a clear diagnosis and specific fix checklist.

📙 For Healthcare & Clinics: 5 Website Mistakes Costing Your Practice New Patients – A practical guide for doctors, dentists, physiotherapists, and clinic owners. Five website mistakes that cost healthcare practices new patients every week – each with a clear diagnosis, real examples, and a specific fix checklist.

These aren’t marketing fluff. They’re the honest, practical advice I’d give a client in the first meeting — written down so anyone can access it.

The Certifications: Never Stop Learning

Here’s something I’ve noticed about developers who plateau: they stop learning formally. They rely on what they already know and quietly fall behind. I never want to be that person.

In the past few weeks, I completed three certifications that directly strengthen the services I offer:

🏅 Google Analytics Certification (Google Skillshop) – Because every website decision should be backed by data. GA4 is a completely different animal from Universal Analytics, and I wanted to make sure I was certified in it properly – not just experienced.

🏅 HubSpot Inbound Marketing Certification (HubSpot Academy) – This one connects everything: content strategy, SEO, social media, email marketing, and conversion optimization. As a WordPress developer and AI specialist who builds lead-generation sites, understanding the full marketing funnel is essential – not optional.

🏅 SEO for WordPress (Udemy) – I use Rank Math and Yoast daily, but certifying formally in SEO for WordPress specifically helped me fill in the gaps and refresh my approach to technical SEO inside the WordPress ecosystem.

These are the first of many. I’m already planning the next round.
